Abstract

In recent years, adaptation studies has become an increasingly important field of academic inquiry, as scholars seek to understand the ways in which literature is transformed and reimagined for different media. By examining and comparing different adaptations of "Frankenstein", we can gain insights into the creative and interpretive processes involved in adapting literature for the screen, as well as the ways in which these adaptations reflect and respond to the original source material.

This paper explores the concept of adaptation in literature and film through a comparison of different adaptations of Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein". The focus will be on examining how various adaptations interpret and portray the themes, characters, and narrative structure of the original novel. By analyzing and contrasting these different adaptations, this paper aims to shed light on the ways in which adaptation can both enhance and reshape the source material. Through a close examination of key adaptations, this paper will provide insights into the creative and interpretive processes involved in adapting literature for the screen.
