Future of Community Policing along with its challenges: An Analytical Study of India

Abstract

Police being a symbol of Government authority was attacked for treating the minorities harshly. It was said that the minorities were under represented in the police department. In response to this civil unrest, the President's Commission on Law Enforcement and the Administration of Justice  (1967) recommended that the police become more responsive to the challenges of a rapidly changing society. Thus from the political and social upheaval of those times, emerged the various elements of community policing
