A Composite Stability Index Framework for Routing Stability Analysis in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks

Routing stability continues to be a significant issue in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) because of constant topology alterations resulting from node movement and varying network density. Traditional MANET performance assessment usually depends on various independent metrics, including packet delivery ratio, routing overhead, and latency. Nonetheless, evaluating these metrics individually may fail to sufficiently represent the overall stability performance of routing activities. To overcome this limitation, this document presents a Composite Stability Index (CSI) that combines various routing stability indicators into a cohesive evaluation framework. The suggested CSI integrates normalized metrics of Path Stability Time (PST), Link Breakage Rate (LBR), and Normalized Routing Load (NRL) to create a unified quantitative measure reflecting overall routing stability.
